Blue Water International Sculpture Exhibit

The Blue Water Arts Council of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County is providing $10,000 in funding to coordinate the implementation of the first large scale public arts project in Port Huron.

Beginning this July, fifteen major art pieces will be installed and displayed throughout downtown Port Huron.  The pieces will be displayed for two years through a program with the Sauve Art Foundation out of Brighton, Michigan.  Other cities such as Royal Oak and Birmingham have also collaborated with the Sauve Art Foundation to bring public art to their downtowns.

Rain Barrel Public Art Project

The Conservation And Restoration Network (C.A.R.N.) has partnered with Studio 1219 to bring beauty to a water conservation project in St. Clair County using rain barrels to capture storm water.  According to Janice Littlefield, Program Manager of C.A.R.N., “The purpose of our project is to encourage fresh water conservation and raise awareness that storm water is the most common pollutant to our fresh water resources.  We are using the Arts to encourage a public dialogue and bring people in the region together to celebrate the Arts and our incredible fresh water resources!”

Building Use

Studio 1219 is a multi-purpose building open to the public. Space can be rented out for birthday parties, receptions, meetings, bridal showers, baby showers, and much more. Prices vary.
