Studio 1219 reopens January 20th with the return of the “Best of the Best” Show
Posted January 15, 2012
After its annual “shut-down” for maintenance and “re-arting,” Studio 1219 celebrates its reopening this week with “The Best of the Best:” the popular self-juried show featuring members of the Studio’s Artists’ Network. Each artist in the Network is showcasing their one, best-piece along with a complimentary piece under $50. The show includes paintings, sculpture, ceramics and pottery, mixed-media, jewelry and more. “The Best of the Best” show opens 6pm Friday, January 20 with a complimentary wine and cheese reception for the public and the opportunity to meet the artists. The reception runs until 9pm.
The Studio was closed from January first through the 16th to undergo its annual “shut down.” “We take this time, each year, to close for the first few weeks of January to handle large maintenance jobs, re-set the Studio and get ready for upcoming events in the new year,” said Studio Executive Director Lee-Perry Belleau.
Besides “The Best of the Best” show in the Chase and Van Gogh Galleries upstairs, new art from the Artists’ Network has also been installed in the Acheson and Desmond Galleries downstairs.
