Studio 1219 Hosts yArt Sale at SC4
Posted May 08, 2010
Bring us your tired, your poor, your huddled art pieces, longing for a new home. Studio 1219 is doing something a little special and different this spring: gently and previously owned art is going to be auctioned off in a fun evening of entertainment to raise funds for the Studio’s programs. On Saturday, May 22 the Studio will convene at the student center of partner, St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, to auction off previously owned art. The auction begins at 7pm, and the art preview begins at 6pm. There will also be art supplies, frames and other art goodies for sale—at deeply discounted prices – during the auction. The evening will include complimentary hors d’ouvres, wine, and beer included for the low ticket price of only $5.00 per person.
But what the Studio needs RIGHT NOW is previously owned art. That’s right: donate those pieces of art – oils, watercolors, photos, sculptures, pottery, prints – you are tired of, from your home, office, business, or organization. Take a tax write-off for donating them to Studio 1219, and the Studio will put them all together for one giant yArt Sale. Then, on May 22, patrons will have the chance to find something to replace those “stale” pieces with art they really like—for unbelievably low prices! And it will all support Studio 1219’s programs and artists. (The Studio will also consider art on consignment for the auction.)
So start digging through those attics, basements, garages, and closets and bring that tired old art to the Studio NOW—and get a write-off for the contribution. Then mark your calendar to come join the fun at the yArt Sale on Saturday May 22! (More details on the event to follow.)
