Studio 1219’s Hands On Art
(formerly Fire & Ice Festival)
New Location: Fine Arts Building at St Clair County Community College, 323 Erie St, downtown Port Huron
“Hands On Art” is a unique and entertaining arts participation event for families. For the sixth year in a row, Studio 1219 and its cultural partners host this free, interactive arts weekend, scheduled for September 29 & 30, 2012.
"Hands On Art”, formerly known as Fire & Ice, will be held at SC4 in downtown Port Huron, in the Fine Arts Building and Student Center Atrium and Cafe. All of the popular activities of the past will continue as well as many new features and presentations. There are activities and demonstrations in drawing, painting, jewelry, pottery and more for all ages to come watch, play, stay -- and even get dirty in the clay! By moving the event indoors, the activities will no longer be subject to the whims of Mother Nature!
Businesses and other nonprofits are invited to join the fun during the festival by adding an arts-related hands-on project for the community that will represent them and educate about their organization. Partnership and sponsorship opportunities are also still available. For additional information on these opportunities, contact Cindy Badley at 810-984-ARTS (Studio 1219), or arted@studio1219.com
As part of Discover the Blue, the theme will reflect the Blue Meets Green efforts in the Blue Water area and our appreciation of our Great Lakes and St. Clair River resources.
